Status: **Room A text and preview-image snapshot complete / Room B PREVIEW–WORKING DRAFT / Room C PREVIEW–CURRENT DIRECTION**

Recorded: **2026-08-08 JST**

Source: Direct instruction from Daito Manabe in the current working session

Scope: Concept and technical-concept text for the room-by-room preview. Equipment placement and construction specifications retain their existing authorities.

Completion scope: The Room A concept text, technical-concept text, technical visualization, and clearly labeled preview image studies form a completed working snapshot as of 2026-08-07. Open technical decisions below remain open; this status does not approve final simulation implementation, exhibition imagery, equipment placement, or construction specifications.

Room B publication scope: The dedicated internal authority and public preview are maintained separately. The Room B material below remains a working preview. Overnight operation, retained-data design, privacy policy, and final audiovisual and sensing specifications remain under development.

Room B physical update: The public technical fields below were reconciled on 2026-08-08 against the newer integrated working model. It uses twelve projectors across three surfaces and twenty-four audio cabinets; LiDAR and Femto Mega remain alternative selections rather than one approved installation layout.

Room C publication scope: The current functional and concept direction connects 24 ceiling-suspended camera, speaker, and point-LED modules with 24 logical agents, three temporal layers, a validated LLM proposal layer outside the public-hours direct-control path, reference-input comparison, and a four-display observational console. Implementation, construction, and visitor-data policy remain open.

## Room A — Life Beyond Simulation（作業タイトル）

### Core proposition

#### 1. High-throughput simulation

#### 2. Aggregation

#### 3. LLM-based multi-agent interaction

#### 4. Shared audiovisual data

### Exhibition cycle

## Room B — Behaviour Becomes History /

Status: **PREVIEW / WORKING DRAFT — 2026-08-07**

### Core proposition

#### 0. Causal structure

#### 1. Spatial sensing

#### 2. Temporary visitor state

#### 3. Trace field

#### 4. Shared real-time audiovisual state

#### 5. Temporal policy

#### 6. Overnight growth and recomputation

## Room C — Perceptual Lifetimes /

Status: **PREVIEW / CURRENT DIRECTION — 2026-08-08**

### Room A — Life Beyond Simulation (working title)

#### Core proposition

**From a world that changes to a world that changes how it changes.**

What forms of life-like and social behaviour arise when a world begins to alter the conditions of its own transformation? Room A connects a dynamic world of vast numbers of elements with LLM agents residing within its process. Image and sound reveal how the state of that world evolves together with the conditions that produce its change.

#### Work concept

At the base of the simulation, large populations of cells and particles evolve through local rules and machine learning. Their states, behaviours, and spatial relations organize them into groups. Each group is abstracted as an agent-scale entity, allowing LLM agents to interpret the relationships and histories that connect them.

The agents' decisions return to the simulation as changes in parameters, algorithm selection, and relations among groups. Forms and movements evolve while the conditions that generate change also shift through events inside the system. Life-like and social behaviours appear as a single process moving across different scales.

High-speed GPU computation and the longer deliberative time of LLM-agent interaction proceed at different rates. Computation continues before the exhibition opens and overnight after the museum closes, producing image and sound for subsequent days. Visitors encounter a state the world reached during a time in which they were absent.

The image extending across the front wall and floor and the sound filling the room arise from the same simulation data. Image and sound become two perceptual manifestations of one internal state.

#### Technical concept

1. **High-throughput simulation** — Run rule-based and machine-learning-based biological and social simulations on GPUs to advance large populations of cells, particles, or individuals.
2. **Aggregation** — Analyze state, behaviour, and spatial relation; organize related elements into groups; abstract each group at an agent scale.
3. **LLM-based multi-agent interaction** — Let LLM agents interpret group state and history and, within defined authority, influence parameters, algorithm selection, and relations among groups.
4. **Shared audiovisual data** — Record state, events, relations, and history as a common data layer, then map that layer into visual and sonic form, rhythm, density, duration, and spatial arrangement.

#### Exhibition cycle

1. Run an extended initial simulation before the exhibition opens.
2. Generate synchronized image and sound from the computed data.
3. Present the generated state across the front wall, floor, and spatial audio system during public hours.
4. Continue the simulation and generate subsequent image and sound overnight.
5. Present newly computed states in later exhibition cycles.

The time required for computation becomes part of the work's temporal structure. High-speed numerical simulation, LLM-agent interaction, and the daily rhythm of the exhibition coexist as different timescales within one work.

#### Spatial experience

- Treat the large front wall and floor as one continuous field of image.
- Synchronize spatial sound derived from the same internal state.
- Let each visit become an encounter with a world that has already accumulated its own duration.
- Let each day's presentation reveal a different section of a continuing computational history.

#### Open technical decisions

- Final biological and social simulation families.
- Cell and particle counts, aggregation method, group count, and update cadence.
- Agent authority and validation of interventions.
- Scope of algorithmic change: selection, parameterization, composition, generated code, or a combination.
- State persistence, branching, recovery, and reproducibility.
- Overnight compute duration, frequency, and selection of states for presentation.
- Mapping from shared data into image, sound, spatialization, and sequence duration.
- Final resolution, frame rate, synchronization, playback, projection, and audio specifications.

### Room B — Behaviour Becomes History

Status: **PREVIEW / WORKING DRAFT — 2026-08-07**

#### Core proposition

**Behaviour becomes history and changes the world that follows.**

Visitor behavior changes the room's present and accumulates as a condition for what may happen next.

#### Work concept

Room B brings together algorithmically behaving virtual entities and collectives, LLM agents that act on their relations, and visitor behavior entering the system from outside the room's computational world.

Movement, dwell, approach, avoidance, clustering, and dispersion are transformed into environmental conditions. Internal evolution, the reorganization of relations by LLM agents, and the continuing arrival of embodied histories intersect, pushing what happens next beyond reliable prediction.

Within a space surrounded by three walls of image, LiDAR and depth cameras continuously read the positions and distributions of bodies. Speed, duration of stillness, distance from others, and intersecting trajectories become temporary spatial relations that enter the environmental state from which image and sound arise.

The traces left by each action diffuse, decay, and mingle over time. The present room appears as a superposition of the people now moving through it and the time left by those who were there moments before. Forms, flows, boundaries, and afterimages travel across the three walls, while sound moves through the room as another perceptual manifestation of that overlap.

Here, memory is the persistence of past events as changing biases in what can happen next. Regions where traces remain strong, relations that fade quickly, and places where multiple durations mingle create new conditions for the movement of subsequent visitors.

Visitors move within an environment received from others and pass their own time on to someone else. What kind of shared memory can a space acquire when individual actions continue to accumulate in one field? Room B makes that transfer perceptible as a real-time audiovisual ecology.

During public hours, those changes appear in real time as image across three surfaces and sound throughout the room. Derived behavior and system state are retained as history. An operating cycle that includes overnight growth and recomputation is being considered, allowing that history to become part of the next day's initial conditions.

#### Technical concept

0. **Causal structure** — Algorithmic internal motion, LLM action on parameters, relations, and procedures, and external conditions transformed from visitor behavior update one shared state.

1. **Spatial sensing** — The current working model contains eight-, ten-, and twelve-unit Hokuyo LiDAR alternatives and Femto Mega zone-sensing alternatives including wall-line, suspended-line, and central-ring layouts. Select an active option, then calibrate its observations into a shared room coordinate system.
2. **Temporary visitor state** — Derive short-lived states such as position, velocity, direction, dwell, proximity, clustering, and dispersion; place an explicit privacy boundary between transient raw sensing and the features that enter the artwork.
3. **Trace field** — Deposit events as traces with magnitude, direction, age, and spatial extent; combine present and past activity through diffusion, decay, and mingling.
4. **Shared real-time audiovisual state** — Map the trace field into visual form, density, flow, boundaries, connectivity, and afterimage across three walls, and into position, timbre, density, rhythm, decay, and movement in spatial sound.
5. **Temporal policy** — Treat immediate state, recent traces, and longer inherited state as distinct time layers; manage daily inheritance, decay, reset, storage, and closing policy as explicit production decisions.
6. **Overnight growth and recomputation** — Retain derived behavior and system state, then consider longer after-hours computation that updates relations, parameters, and procedures. In the proposed cycle, the state that crosses the night becomes part of the following day's initial conditions.

#### Exhibition cycle

1. Initialize the trace field at opening according to the selected inheritance, decay, or reset policy.
2. During public hours, update temporary visitor states from LiDAR and depth observations.
3. Deposit movement, dwell, approach, avoidance, clustering, and dispersion as traces; compute diffusion, decay, and mingling in real time.
4. Generate the real-time three-wall image and spatial-audio layers from the current field.
5. Carry forward only the state permitted by the approved retention policy during the same public day. Next-day inheritance remains part of the proposed overnight cycle.

The present body, recent events, and inherited environmental state coexist as different timescales within the same room.

#### Spatial experience

- Treat the front, left, and right walls as one continuous U-shaped image field.
- Transform movement into forms, flows, boundaries, and afterimages that cross the three surfaces.
- Generate moving and decaying spatial-sound layers from the same trace state.
- Let each action be perceived as a change in an environment where it mingles with traces left by others.
- Let each time of arrival reveal a different density and bias of accumulated history.

#### Open technical decisions

- Selection of the eight-, ten-, or twelve-unit LiDAR option and the Femto Mega target zone, layout family, and quantity, followed by final transforms, FOV, overlap, dead zones, calibration, synchronization, update rates, and latency.
- Sensor fusion, track association, features, thresholds, temporary identity lifetime, and missing-data behavior.
- Retention, anonymization, notice, consent, and non-participation for raw data, point clouds, and derived features.
- Trace-field representation, resolution, diffusion, decay, mingling, saturation, and daily inheritance.
- Concrete mappings from trace state into image and sound.
- Division between recorded/replayed and real-time audio layers.
- Rigging, safety, output raster, projection polygons, crop, blend/mask, and synchronization for the current twelve-projector layout. The former sixteen-unit plan included a fourth surface and remains historical.
- Final height, aim, mounting, safety, channel mapping, and acoustic calibration for the twenty-four loudspeaker and subwoofer cabinets placed in the current master.

### Room C — Perceptual Lifetimes

Status: **PREVIEW / CURRENT DIRECTION — 2026-08-08**

This text is a public preview of the latest artistic and technical direction for Room C. The twenty-four modules and logical agents, three temporal layers, the LLM’s role in the long-timescale layer, reference-input comparison, and the central console belong to the current direction. Details of implementation, installation, and data operations remain under development.

#### Work concept

**Exhibition time becomes a lifetime for twenty-four points of perception.**

Twenty-four modules hang from the ceiling of Room C in a 5 × 5 grid with the center left open. Each carries a camera, a speaker, and a single point of LED light, receiving human position and movement from a different location. Twenty-four local perceptions are woven into a shared state and returned to the room as sound and light.

In the current concept, each perceptual point corresponds to a logical agent with its own state and history. Beginning from the same basic structure on the first day, the agents differentiate through the experiences received at their respective positions: what they attend to, which events they retain, whose information they weigh more heavily, and how they respond.

For each agent, visitor position and movement become local events. The agent relates its prediction, selected action, and the change that follows, then carries that relation into its next decision. The same situation can acquire a different meaning through the memories and relations formed before it.

Patterns of sound and light are reused, imitated, transformed, and propagated among agents. Local responses organize into collective behaviors including synchrony, transmission, repetition, and silence, forming a behavioral grammar specific to this place. Sensitivities, roles, relations, and shared patterns differentiate across the exhibition.

During public hours, perception, prediction, communication, and action repeat at a short cadence. After closing, the system selects memories from the day’s events, forgets, and updates prediction models and relations among agents. Present time, night, and the duration from opening day to closing overlap as twenty-four perceptual points form one distributed field with distinct histories.

The four central displays are conceived as an observational surface that abstracts the agents’ present activity, predictions, selected memories, relational change, and differences from the first day. Visitors move through behavior manifested as sound and light while encountering another time forming behind it.

#### Technical concept

1. **Local observation at twenty-four points** — Each module camera observes human position and movement from a different location. Observations are related in shared coordinates to update both local state and the environmental state of the collective.
2. **Agent-specific state and history** — Each logical agent is conceived as maintaining local observation, short-term history, attention, selected memory, prediction, reference weights toward other agents, and behavior rules for sound and light.
3. **Formation of relational state** — Reference, imitation, inhibition, synchrony, and differences from prediction update the relations among agents, forming paths through which local change can reach decisions elsewhere.
4. **Fast public-hours layer** — Position and movement extraction, local and relational state updates, action selection, and output to twenty-four speakers and LEDs continue at a short cadence. Movement arising within sound and light is observed again.
5. **After-hours consolidation layer** — Structured events from the day guide memory selection, forgetting, and updates to prediction, relation, and behavior. In this longer layer, an LLM reads structured history and proposes attention, exploration, and behavior candidates for the next day in a defined format. Only candidates passing authority, safety, schema, and runtime validation may enter the next state.
6. **Exhibition-long comparison layer** — The same reference input is applied to the saved initial and current states. Repeated responses are observed so that differences in response, sequence, and relation can be opened on the central console.
7. **Common data and three manifestations** — Local observation, state, event, selected memory, relation, action, sound, and light are joined by a common data layer. The same internal state unfolds differently through spatial sound from twenty-four speakers, twenty-four point-like LEDs, and the four-display console.

#### Exhibition time structure

1. **Public hours** — Receive position and movement at twenty-four points, update local state and relations, and return them as sound and light.
2. **After closing** — Select memories from the day, forget, and update prediction, relation, and behavior candidates.
3. **Next day** — Inherit a validated state as a new initial condition and continue accumulating different experiences.
4. **Across the exhibition** — Compare the initial and current states with the same reference input and observe the history of differentiation.

#### Spatial experience

- Distribute twenty-four sensing-and-output modules on a 5 × 5 grid with the central position left open.
- Let sound emerge, travel, overlap, and break across twenty-four speakers as visitors move.
- Let one LED on each module show local state and relational change as a point of light.
- Use the four central displays to open present activity and histories formed after closing and across the exhibition from another distance.
- Let each visitor enter, as an event in the present, a distributed perceptual field that began forming before their arrival.

#### Current publication boundary and open decisions

Human position and movement are the currently confirmed inputs. “Memory” in the work refers to agent state and structured history; it does not imply retaining personally identifiable visitor images or identity data.

The following remain to be designed and validated toward the complete version:

- Mapping among twenty-four modules, logical agents, local observations, and shared state
- Memory types, capacity, significance, forgetting, and retention period
- Relational graph for reference, imitation, inhibition, and synchrony
- LLM input scope, output schema, authority, evaluation, safety, and failure continuity
- Initial state, reference inputs, repeated comparison, checkpoints, and recovery
- Mapping state and history into sound, LEDs, and the four-screen console
- Camera input, derived features, raw-data handling, retention scope, notice, consent, non-participation, and deletion
- Module height, field of view, audio, LEDs, power, network, suspension, safety, and installation

The current 3D and drawing set is working geometry for physical study, not a final construction model for the twenty-four integrated modules. Final specifications require spatial, equipment, operational, and safety validation.
